The mascot mystery
Sunny is the Western Bulldogs’ real-life bulldog mascot. Supporters noticed that he had stopped appearing at games held at Marvel Stadium, which led to plenty of jokes and questions.
Why did he disappear?
The funny explanation was linked to where Sunny was allowed to go to the toilet inside the stadium. A real dog mascot comes with real match-day responsibilities—and stadium rules still apply.
Was it actually a ban?
“Banned” made a brilliant headline, but the situation was more like a practical venue restriction than Sunny being in serious trouble. The beloved bulldog remained part of the club family.
